What we tend to find here
Salt Lake County has the oldest housing stock in the state, and it shows up in the electrical. The avenues and the older east-side neighborhoods still turn up knob-and-tube, fuse panels and undersized services, alongside pre-1950 masonry with failing mortar joints. South and west, the post-war ranches and the newer Herriman and Daybreak subdivisions bring a different list: settled soils, basement moisture and HVAC that was sized optimiztically.
None of that means a house in Salt Lake County is a bad buy. It means we know what to look at first, and we would rather spend the time where it is likely to matter.
